Exporting data models & data schemas

  • PDF

Article Summary

Exporting a template's data schema saves connected data sources, schema properties, and any associated data types to an XSD file. Export files are useful as a backup, or for importing to another DocFusion template.

Exporting to XSD

First, click Data Model in the DocFusion ribbon bar to open the Data Model view for your template.

In the toolbar, locate the Export command and click it. The Export dialog opens.

Now, specify the following export settings:

  1. Description: Free-text to describe the purpose and contents of the export.
  2. Tags: Select from existing tags, or create new ones, to index your export for referencing later.
  3. Is Pinned: Enable the checkbox if you want to list this export at the top of the Import Wizard in future data model imports.
  4. Export to: The path that the export file will be saved to. The file will be saved with an .xsd extension.

Lastly, click Save to complete the export operation.
