DocFusion enhances the Salesforce experience with document automation that supports customer communications. Salespeople save time and effort by generating business documents from existing Salesforce data and then having them emailed, stored or routed along other customizable automations. DocFusion consistently generates accurate, compliant and visually-rich documents for any stage of customer communications. All integration between the two platforms is secured using OAuth 2.0 authentication and TLS 1.2 encryption for data transfer.

The DocFusion for Salesforce App serves two primary purposes:

  1. Adds document automation functionality to Salesforceallowing users to automate customer communications without switching context away from Salesforce.

Key Concepts

The organization of the DocFusion app within Salesforce is logical to the setup and maintenance of document automations. These are the key concepts you need to know:

Connected Environments integrate your Salesforce instance with DocFusion using OAuth 2.0 authentication and your unique DocFusion business unit details. This mandatory setup step connects the two platforms and applies secured connections to all document automation tasks triggered from Salesforce.

Button Configs are the configuration settings for buttons added to Salesforce pages. It usually specifies a DocFusion Button Recipe that is triggered when users click buttons and, for this reason, their configuration is shared between the Salesforce setup area and the DocFusion Setup Wizard.

Button Recipes are used by Button Configs and specify a reusable document automation. Recipes specify a DocFusion document template or Workflow to use during document generation along with any associated parameters and output formats.

Follow-up Actions are post-processing steps that are also reusable across Button Recipes. They define common tasks such as emailing or storing documents. The most common ones come standard with DocFusion.
